ConDel Technologies, AuthenTec, and A-Unions to Demonstrate Innovative Content Protection Solution for Removable Media

TAIPEI, Taiwan and MELBOURNE, Fla., October 27, 2011 – ConDel Technologies, a leading content delivery solution provider, AuthenTec, a leading provider of security and identity management solutions, and A-Unions, an application service provider (ASP) in Taiwan, announced today that they have teamed to create Secure Removable Media (SRM) content distribution service. ConDel will incorporate AuthenTec’s DRM Fusion client and server solution to protect multimedia content stored on ConDel memory sticks and SD cards to be offered by A-Unions. ConDel and AuthenTec will help ensure that A-Unions’ comic books, music, movies, e-books, and augmented reality content stored on SRM can only be played by authorized users and cannot be copied.

SRM offers an innovative way for content distributors to offer their content securely. Both license and content are stored on the device, thereby enabling offline content protection without the need to deliver a license to play the content. ConDel will produce USB memory sticks and MicroSD cards that include AuthenTec’s DRM Client supporting Secure Removable Media feature of Open Mobile Alliance (OMA2.1) DRM standard and a DRM-enabled media player. AuthenTec is also providing its DRM Fusion Server to A-Unions for ensuring that their valuable content is protected on the server side and also for license management. A-Unions will offer its ASP service to its subscribers in Q4 2011.

The joint solution will be showcased at Hall 4F Booth #19, at Digital Taipei 2011 to be held at NTUH International Convention Center from October 27-28. AuthenTec’s Vice President of Technical Strategy Henk Pruim will host a presentation entitled “Content Protection from Cloud to Client” at 2PM local time on October 27th in 3F Stadium as part of a joint press conference by A-Unions, AuthenTec, and ConDel.
